By the way, the witness, a man named Eric who works at the liquor store across the street, says the men and the woman looked like Pacific Islanders:
Asked how he would describe the girl who got in the car with the suspects, Eric said: 'She was an Asian girl, in her 20s, she had pants on and a tank top.'
Eric said he thought the suspects and the girl were 'Asian Pacific' in appearance and possibly from the Asian and Pacific Islander community of Sacramento.
Describing what happened before the fight broke out, Eric said: 'There was probably like eight people total, probably like three girls, four or five guys… they were all pushing and shoving…
'I thought they were all together, I figured it was a whole group of people and they were friends, because it went on for five or ten minutes out there they were arguing.
'They were arguing like a bunch of friends who were getting out of a club being stupid.
'I almost walked back in the store and then it happened. It was like boom, boom, boom.' Eric is positive Spencer was not the aggressor and was trying to protect the woman who was being abused.
He added: 'I don't know if it was something that was said and he was protecting the girl.These guys were short and someone thin. So it is unlikely they were Samoans or Tongans. Yet they were described as looking like Pacific Islanders.
There are a lot of Muslims in the Philippines. In fact, the 9/11 plot was initially organized in the Philippines.

Similar thing happened in France several years ago. A Jewish man was lured to a location by a woman. The man's attackers then kidnapped him and tortured him to death. The attackers were Muslim in the French example.

Cab Driver: Suspect Punched Woman In Fight That Led To Spencer Stone Stabbing
It’s been a sleepless night for Kennedy Hailemariam. He says he can’t shake the image of Spencer Stone covered in blood out of his head.
When he offered to take the man who once helped thwart a suspected terrorist attack on a France-bound train to the hospital, he says he was blown away by how calm and collected he was after such a violent attack.
“I tried to ask him ‘Yo, yo!’ And the only thing he say, he say is ‘Call 911.’ That’s what he said,” he said.
Hailemariam watched Stone take on three men in the middle of one of Midtown’s busiest intersections.
“He knocked out one guy, and they tried to stop him, but he was down already,” he said. “The blood is coming like from everywhere.”
Surveillance video shows the men surrounding the 23-year-old Carmichael man who police say was out with four friends—a man and three women—when an argument turned physical and spilled onto 21st and K streets.

He describes the suspects as three short and stocky Asian men in their 30s, one of whom even attacked one of the women with Stone.
“She tried to protect him too but she got hit too. Like you know, big punch, like boom,” he said, gesturing to his mouth.
As first responders moved in, Hailemariam says Stone appeared to be losing consciousness as he laid down on the sidewalk.
Hailemariam is now looking into installing a dashcam in his taxi. He’s anxious knowing a Hometown Hero survived an attack overseas only to come home to another one.
“This is his home city and he got this thing,” he said. “He comes out to like, to enjoy or something, but this happened to him in his hometown, you know what I mean?”
Police believe alcohol was a factor in the case, but Kennedy was quick to point out that Stone and his friends did not act or sound as though they had too much to drink.
Hailemariam says he’s planning on spending the next few days at home with his 8-month-old daughter

The description says two suspects seen fleeing - yet it's clear the female is with the two suspects AND THE DRIVER. Why are the police making light of the driver and female involved?
My woman's intuition isn't infallible.
That said, the more I learn about this incident, the more this smells like a set up to me.

French train hero now in 'good spirits' after stabbing outside bar
The UC Davis Medical Center upgraded Airman Spencer Stone's condition from serious to fair. Doctors say he was awake, and could get out of bed Friday.
"We know it's not related to what occurred in France," Sacramento Deputy Police Chief Ken Bernard said.
Stone was out with four friends when they got into a fight near a bar with another group of people, Bernard said.
The deputy chief would not disclose what sparked the argument but said there was no evidence the assailants knew who Stone was.
